Splash Pad Hours Changing on Friday: Here's Why
The hours will be shortened by four hours each day.
ROSEMOUNT, MN — The city of Rosemount announced that the hours at Central Park Splash Padwill be reduced for water conservation.
The hours, previously 9 a.m.-9 p.m., will be shortened to 11 a.m.-7 p.m., the city said.
This is due to a rise in water usage in the city-normally the city sees 6 million gallons used per day during the summer, but the numbers have already spiked to over 8 million gallons, the city said.

According to the city, if people cooperate with water usage conservation and the weather cooperates, the Splash Pad will go back to regular hours.
The city said it is also putting an extra emphasis on its annual watering restrictions-it will try to increase awareness of the policy and begin enforcing it.

Until August, lawn watering is to be done on an odd-even schedule, based on house number, the city said. If your house ends in an odd number, you can water on odd days of the month and if your house ends in an even number you can water on even days of the month. However, all watering between 12-6 p.m. is prohibited-the only exceptions are those with new sod and landscaping, the city said.
