Suspect Sought In Violent Lakeville Assault

The Lakeville Police Department is encouraging anybody who goes to East Lake Community Park to be cautious.

LAKEVILLE, MN— The Lakeville Police Department is asking for the public's help in finding a man who violently assaulted a woman on Saturday at East Lake Community Park in Lakeville, Tierney Helmers, the communications manager for the city of Lakeville said.

The man lured the woman into a secluded area of the park Saturday morning under the ruse of helping somebody who had fallen, officials said.

The man then attacked the woman, who was able to escape and was taken to Ridges Hospital, officials said.

The man was described as wearing a black stocking cap, a black COVID-19 style face mask, sunglasses, a black jacket and black gloves, officials said.

The Lakeville Police Department is encouraging anybody who goes to the park to be cautious, Helmers said.

Officials said the park and its surrounding areas will patrolled by extra officers.
