A convergence of celestial circumstances will create a dramatic effect as the moon rises over the horizon on Saturday. The supermoon will begin making an appearance at approximately 8:18 p.m.
The moon will only be about 220,000 miles from your backyard, so it will appear extra big and extra bright, especially when rising over a backdrop such as your house, a tree, hillside or anything else you can frame in your shot. Rosemount Patch will be out taking pictures in the area from our secret weekend outdoor retreat. And we want to see your 'supermoon' photos, too.
Maybe it's the watertower. Maybe it's the sports dome. Maybe it's the UMore wind turbine, your house, a country barn, the tree in your backyard, or even your kids silhouetted against the supermoon at the playground.
Get creative and show us what you've got. We'll be able to see Rosemount in a whole new light.
Upload your 'supermoon' photos to our Pics & Clips (YouTube videos are always welcome, too).
As for the weather? Well, it's Minnesota, so the forecast will be different by the time you read this. But odds are good for clear enough skies to be able to view the supermoon in all its hugeness.
