Watchdog Walker Event On June 22 In City Of Apple Valley

The Apple Valley Police Department will again be hosting its annual Watchdog Walkers event on June 22, 6-8 pm in Kelley park.

May 20, 2021

As the weather turns nicer out we see people coming outside after a long, cold winter. Being outside and getting exercise is good for the soul and helps us push through the tough times. There are dozens, if not hundreds, of dog walkers throughout the community at all times of the day, all days of the week, in all weather conditions, who are often preoccupied with texting, emailing, music and phone calls during their neighborhood walks. Watchdog Walkers is a crime awareness program that encourages dog walkers and walkers of all kinds to assist the Apple Valley Police Department as extra “eyes and ears” of the community. By watching for and reporting suspicious activity you are helping to keep your community safe. A large portion of police arrests are a direct result of a citizen’s phone call. You are not bothering us by calling in suspicious activity.
