UPDATE: 4 of 5 Alcohol, Drug-Related Charges Dismissed Against Woman Arrested in Apple Valley in 2011

Charges of gross misdemeanor DWI, driving after suspension, possession of marijuana in a motor vehicle and possession of drug paraphernalia were dismissed against Mackenzie Kathleen Beckman.

UPDATE, March 26, 2012: Four of the five charges originally made against Mackenzie Kathleen Beckman were dismissed, according to Minnesota court records.

The charges of gross misdemeanor DWI, driving after suspension, possession of marijuana in a motor vehicle and possession of drug paraphernalia were dismissed, records show. Records show a conviction on the misdemeanor DWI charge.

The sentence, issued March 22, 2012, was for one year probation, including several conditions, such as obtaining a chemical dependency evaluation, having no drivers license evaluations or alcohol-related offenses and not using alcohol or controlled substances.

An Eagan woman appeared in Dakota County court on Tuesday in connection with a Dec. 4 arrest in Apple Valley, a case in which she's been charged with a bevy of alcohol- and drug-related offenses.

Mackenzie Kathleen Beckman, 26, is charged with gross misdemeanor DWI, misdemeanor DWI, driving after suspension and possession of marijuana in a vehicle and possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to a Dakota County criminal complaint:

Beckman was stopped on Hayes Road in Apple Valley after police witnessed her make a series of moving violations in her car. 

A registration check revealed Beckman's license had been suspended since Sept. 23.

While speaking to Beckman, officers at the scene saw her eyes were bloodshot and dilated, she smelled like alcohol and her speech was slurred.

After officers asked her to exit the vehicle, they also noticed Beckman was staggering, according to the complaint. She allegedly refused to submit to any field sobriety testing.

Beckman allegedly admitted to having marijuana in her pocket and a pipe in her coat after she was arrested. 

Beckman is scheduled to appear at an omnibus hearing on Mar. 22. 

If convicted of the crimes against her, Beckman faces a maximum sentence of one-and-a-half years in jail and a $5,600 fine.
