11 Things To Do In Eagan This Summer

EAGAN, MN — Looking for things to do outside this summer in Eagan? Here is a round-up of family-friendly fun in parks around the city.
- Eagan Market Fest- This year, live music will return to Eagan Market Fest, just in time for the festival's 15th birthday. Live music will be at the Eagan Rotary Bandshell and the weekly events will have concessions for purchase, the city said. Vendors will also be present at the Festival Grounds to sell locally grown and made products to visitors, according to the city. Here is this year's schedule:
- July 14- Tony Rook Band
- July 21- Pop Standards Social Club
- July 28- Gary LaRue
- August 4- Alma Andina
- August 11- Bill and Kate Isles
- August 18- The Backyard Band
- Food Truck Festival- This year's Food Truck Festival will take place Aug. 13 from 4-9 p.m. at Eagan Festival Grounds, the city said. The event promises to be "sweet and salty" with over 20 trucks boasting flavors from around the world, according to the city. There will also be alcohol available to purchase for those 21+ with a wristband purchase, the city said. Live music will include Todd Hurst from 4:00 – 5:30 p.m. and Viva Knievel from 6:30 – 9:00 p.m.
- Spark! Mobile- The Spark! Team is hosting daily puppet shows throughout Eagan parks this summer, the city said. Spark! in the Park will also host puppet shows Thursday nights in July, according to the city. You can find performance dates and locations here.
- Movies in the Park- Enjoy free movie nights in different parks across Eagan. Here is the line-up:
- A League of Their Own- July 23 at Eagan Festival Grounds. Event starts at 8:30 p.m., showtime is 9:00 p.m.
- The Croods a New Age- August 21 at Rahn Park. Event starts at 8:00 p.m., showtime is 8:30 p.m.
- LaLa Land-September 11 at Eagan Art House. Event starts at 7:00 p.m., showtime is at: 7:30 p.m.
- Eagan Splash Pad- Open 9 a.m.-8 p.m. daily (but closed Wednesdays from 2-4 p.m.), the splash pad at Eagan Central Park is a great way to stay cool this summer. It also features rock seating and a shelter with picnic tables, the city said.
- Cascade Bay- This Eagan waterpark is a popular choice for cooling down on hot summer days. Due to the pandemic, the waterpark is currently operating through two daily sessions, according to the city. You can purchase a ticket up to an hour before your session, the city said.
- Eagan Art Block- This two-week event is a celebration of art, learning, and community spaces, according to the city. This year's event will take place from Sept. 11-Sept. 25, and be located in the area bounded by Wescott Road to the north, Diffley Road to the south, Lexington Avenue to the east, and Pilot Knob Road to the west, the city said.
- Eagan Community Center- The community center offers a variety of activities including a gymnasium, indoor walking track, The Blast indoor playground, a Fitness Center, personal training, group fitness classes, room rentals and much more.
- Eagan Civic Arena- The civic arena has two indoor, regulation-sized ice sheets, the city said. The arena offers activities such as public skating, Club Sk8, open hockey, Eagan Skate School, Ice, Room and Turf rentals, a Pro Shop with equipment and skate cleaning and sharpening.
- Destination All Play at Woodhaven Park- This new, inclusive playground has something for every kid, regardless of ability level, the city said. The newly-opened park includes: musical instruments, sensory panels, spinning elements, swing sets, large play structure with seven slides, a bank shot court and multiple ramps and climbing structures, the city said. The park also includes bathrooms, a 75-seat pavilion and a patio, according to the city.
- Pickleball- Quarry park in Eagan has eight pickleball courts, and the city said it is adding nine courts to Rahn Park this summer.
