Boy, 13, Found Unresponsive After Falling Into Eagan Lake
Authorities believe the boy fell into open water near a drainage culvert.
EAGAN, MN — A 13-year-old boy was hospitalized after he fell into a lake and was found unresponsive in Eagan Thursday.
Eagan police responded to a report of a missing child near Lemay Lake at 1:30 p.m..
Officers found a shoe near the water, leading them to believe the boy fell near a drainage culvert. Around 2:15 p.m. the Dakota County Sheriff’s Office dive team responded and found the boy unresponsive in the water.

Medics performed life-saving measures before transporting the boy to the hospital. His condition is unknown.
"The Dakota County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the incident and reminds all that ice is not trustworthy," the department said in a news release. "The Sheriff’s Office and Eagan Police Department extend their thoughts and prayers to the child’s family and friends."
