Cop, Firefighter, And Soldier Statues Vandalized In Eagan
Authorities say three statues and the bandshell were targeted during a protest.
EAGAN, MN — The Eagan Police Department continues to look for help from the public as it investigates vandalism at the Central Park Commons. Three statues were vandalized Tuesday night, in addition to the park's band shell.
The statues were of a police officer, a firefighter, and a solider, a spokesperson told Patch. The police statue shows an officer protecting a little girl who is behind him.
Authorities say the incident happened during a protest that broke out at the Eagan Community Center ahead of an event that was to be hosted by police.

"Eagan Police Department planned to have a community conversation to hear citizens' concerns surrounding policing, however we had to cancel the event due to a protest that was scheduled to occur at our event," the department said in a release.
"Organizers of the protest indicated this was going to be a peaceful rally, but as you can see from the attached photos, this was far from the case."
