One day after two confirmed tornadoes touched down in Burnsville and Eagan, a light dusting of snow snarled rush hour traffic and caused numerous accidents across the Twin Cities area on Monday morning.

The Minnesota State Patrol responded to as many as 50 across the metropolitan area on Monday morning, according to state patrol spokesperson Lt. Eric Roeske. No one was seriously injured in the accidents, Roeske said.

Eagan was largely spared from weather-related traffic incidents on Monday, according to Eagan Police Department spokesperson Desiree Schroepfer. Police officers only responded to two crashes in the city on Monday morning—a rate that "wasn't out of the norm" for an averaging workday, Schroepfer said.

The first accident was reported at 8:22 a.m., and took place at the intersection of Pilot Knob and Cliff Roads, Schroepfer said. The second, at 8:56 a.m., was located at Blue Cross and Yankee Doodle Roads. No injuries were reported at either incident.

"We usually get one or two [accidents] during the morning commute," Schroepfer said.
