EAGAN, MN — If you're a dog or cat owner, you know what a challenge it is trim your pet's nails without them squirming away. The cumbersome chore inspired one Eagan dad to invent a hilarious homemade remedy to ease the task.
Oliver, a rescue dog the Peifer family adopted just over a year ago, played the role of guinea pig.
"He's the perfect dog," Kendal Peifer, 18, told BuzzFeed News. However, "It's very difficult to keep him still while clipping nails," she qualified.

Kendal's dad, Patrick, was inspired to recreate a solution he had seen elsewhere. He headed to Goodwill and bought a purse, cut four holes in it, threw it on Oliver and hooked it to a pull-up bar.
After that, Oliver's squirming days were over.

The invention made waves online after Kendal shared a photo of it on Twitter; "my dog hates his nails getting clipped so my dad literally bought a purse & cut holes in it," read the caption. It has since been retweeted more than 86,000 times.
The reactions were almost as great as the contraption itself.
