Eagan 'Dunn Brothers' Owner Retires, Sells Coffee Shop

The buyer of the Eagan Dunn Brothers Coffee is also the owner of the Dunn Brothers Coffee in Lakeville.

EAGAN, MN— The Dunn Brothers Coffee in Eagan has been sold to a new owner, the shop announced Saturday.

Glenn Elliott, who bought the coffee shop eight years ago, told customers of his decision to retire to focus on his family and his health on a post penned by Elliott on the shop's Facebook page, with promises to reveal the mystery buyer soon.

Dunn Brothers Coffee announced Monday that the buyer of the shop was Mick Thares, the owner of the Dunn Brothers Coffee in Lakeville for the past three years.

"Mick has owned the Dunn Brothers in Lakeville for the past 3 years and has viewed Glenn as a mentor," the shop wrote on Monday. "He is looking forward to carrying on the same traditions, quality of service, and community service that Glenn has established. Mick is also looking forward to being apart of the Eagan community."

The sale became official Tuesday morning, Elliott's post said.

During Elliott's eight years owning Dunn Brothers Coffee, he made a vast impact on the community.

Dunn Brothers in Eagan has worked alongside Open Door Food Pantry, and through the community's support, was also able to donate $21,000 in scholarships over the past eight years to the Eagan Foundation in honor of Elliott's late daughter Maggie, Elliot said in his post.

Elliott also spoke of how he has come to love the community of Eagan, befriending his customers.

"My customers have become friends and your support has been overwhelming to me," Elliot's post said. "Your smiling faces and meaningful conversations have filled the last 8 years with joy. My amazing team is like a family to me. I hear compliments on my employees every single day! You are such amazing people and I appreciate you immensely!"
