Eagan Funfest Ambassador Program Provides Youth Journey for Growth

Back with another blog post, it’s Makenzie Martin, one of your 2016-2017 Eagan Funfest Ambassadors! As candidacy slowly approaches, it’s time for me to begin reflecting on the past year, as an ambassador. About a year ago, I remember how ecstatic I was about beginning this new chapter in my life, by participating as a candidate in the ambassador program. Months later, there I was, in crown and gown, as a 2016-17 Eagan Funfest Ambassador. Over the past year, I’ve gained more than I could ever imagine through my experience as an ambassador. For one, I’ve grown as an individual in more ways than one; But, in particular, my overall growth in confidence. And most importantly, I’ve met three of the most talented, kind and beautiful young women that I’ve gotten to share this journey with. From public appearances, to various volunteer events, these girls have never failed to make it full of endless smiles and fun. Overall, this year has meant more than I could ever put into words. It’s truly once in a lifetime… I couldn’t thank everyone enough for giving me this opportunity; I’m forever grateful!
