Eagan Heroes In 2020 Are Social Media Users

EAGAN, MN— The latest tool being employed by police in Eagan has been its social network, which helped solved several criminal investigations.

Through the use of social media, several suspects were identified in 2020, according to the police department.

Those included
- Jewelry Theft
- Package Theft
- Counterfeit Money
- Burglary and Vehicle Theft
- Debit Card Fraud
-Tire Slashing
-Shoplifting and Vehicle Pursuit
-Fraud and Burglary

"In 2020 we used social media to assist with multiple investigations. With the community’s participation, these suspect images were shared with thousands of people, and we have been able to identify and submit charges against multiple offenders," police explained Thursday. "We want to thank everyone who shared our images and helped identify and charge these suspects."

The police department said in 2021 police will continue to request the community's help in identifying suspects and solving crimes.
