Eagan Man Convicted Of Tax Crimes: Report

He and another knowingly underreported their monthly tax collections for Darbar Indian Grill restaurants in two locations.

EAGAN, MN — An Eagan resident was recently convicted of tax crimes by Hennepin County District Court, Sun Thisweek reported.

Baljit Singh plead guilty to and was convicted of two felony counts of aiding in the filing of false or fraudulent sales tax returns, the publication reported.

He was sentenced to pay a fine of $19,000, two years of supervised probation and to serve 60 days in the Hennepin County Workhouse, the publication reported.

Singh and Lakhvir Singh Padda knowingly underreported their monthly tax collections for Darbar Indian Grill restaurants in both the Minneapolis and Apple Valley locations, the publication reported.
