Eagan Man, Owner of Modern Window Shade Dead at 81

Arthur L. Quimby, Jr. was the owner of a family business in south Minneapolis and a father of seven.

An Eagan resident and owner of a well-known business in Minneapolis has died.

Arthur L. Quimby, Jr. died on Aug. 17, 2013 at the age of 81. He was the proprietor of Modern Window Shade, a company that still occupies a prominent spot on Cedar Avenue in Minneapolis' Corcoran Neighborhood, just north of Nokomis. 

According to his obituary on the Morris Nilsen Funeral Chapel's website, he is survived by his wife, Janice, and seven children, Marcia (Mark) Ortner, Larry Quimby, Sharon (Pat) Dillon, Linda Batterson, David (Jacy) Quimby, Pam (Jerry) Talcott and Tim (Janine) Graham. He also leaves behind 15 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

A service was held for Quimby on Thursday. Memorials can be sent to Bethany Church or to Our Lady of Peace Hospice, St. Paul.
