Eagan Officers Mourn Death of Police Canine

Zebo, a five-year veteran of the department, was suffering from a debilitating intestinal disorder.

The Eagan Police Department bade goodbye to Zebo, one of the department's two canines, after the dog passed away last week following an intestinal disorder.

Zebo served for five years with the department with handler Robbe Waller, and was well-known in Eagan for his public demonstrations and appearances at public events, according to a news release issued by the department.

The police canine was receiving treatment for a debilitating intestinal disorder at the University of Minnesota's Veterinary Medical Center. While recoving from a related surgery, Zebo contracted pneumonia, which complicated his recovery, the news release said. After his condition deteriorated, he was euthanized on March 8.
