Eagan Police Encounter Black Bear

On June 2nd Eagan police encountered a Black Bear near Slater and Rusten Roads.

From the Eagan Police Department:

On June 2nd, Eagan police officers were dispatched to the southwest area of the City regarding the sighting of a black bear.

The bear was first spotted in a residential area near the intersection of Slater and Rusten Roads where is appeard to be moving in an easterly direction through the city.

None of the reports indicated the bear was involved in any nuisance or aggressive behaviors, but officer accounts confirmed the bear had sustained an injury to its hind leg.

The bear was located several days later in the City of West St. Paul and dispatched.
