Eagan Police: Killing Near Hotel Does Not Appear To Be 'Random'

A man died after he was shot in the head in Eagan Monday night, police said.

EAGAN, MN — Authorities say the fatal shooting of a man in Eagan Monday night "does not appear to be a random incident."

On Nov. 9, just before 9 p.m., Eagan officers responded to a report of gunshots near Eagandale Place and Lone Oak Road. Police found a man on the southeast side of a hotel building who had been shot in the head. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say "a short time later," officers stopped a vehicle leaving the area and took a man and woman into custody.

The two were taken back to the Eagan Police Department and remain in custody, authorities said in a news release Tuesday.

The relationship between the suspects and the man who was killed are still under investigation. Police are asking any witnesses to call the Eagan Police Department at (651) 675-5799.
