Eagan Reduces Liquor License Fees For Restaurants, Bars

EAGAN, MINN – The Eagan City Council Dec. 1 voted to decrease the 2021 liquor license fee by providing credit for the days when in-person dining was banned under Gov. Tim Walz's coronavirus executive orders.

The credit — which will result in a 35 percent reduction in the license fee — is "in recognition of the unprecedented difficulties faced by restaurants due to COVID-19," officials said.

"Our City has remained focused on how we can help our community’s businesses stay open and doing business," City Administrator Dave Osberg said in a news release. "At City Hall, we know that businesses are adjusting to survive during COVID-19. As partners, the City Council is working to help provide relief and necessary adjustments for our local service and retail businesses."
