Eagan to Pause for Moment of Silence on Sept. 11

Sunday observances will honor those who died in the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.

The City of Eagan is asking residents on Sunday to remember and honor the nearly 3,000 people who died on Sept. 11, 2001.

Sunday marks the 10-year anniversary of the terrorist attacks. Eagan city officials released a statement asking people to, at 7:46 a.m. on Sunday, pause for a moment of silence.

"That is the precise time a hijacked American Airlines plane, flight 11, crashed into the World Trade Center’s north tower in New York City," the statement explains.

On Sunday at 11 a.m., Eagan police, fire and military representatives will present a wreath at the Tribute and Memorial Plaza at Central Park in Eagan. Taps will be played to honor those who 10 years ago lost their lives and fought to save others'.
