Eagan's 'Cascade Bay' To Open June 11

Additional information about safety precautions during the pandemic will come at a later date.

EAGAN, MN— Cascade Bay will open its doors to Eagan residents Friday, June 11, the city of Eagan said.

Additional information about safety precautions for opening the park during the pandemic will come at a later date, the city said.

"The City of Eagan has and will continue to adjust to any guidance to keep residents and staff safe at our facilities and in our programs, whether it’s Cascade Bay, our countless recreation programs in the parks, or while keeping our parks and fields in tip-top shape," the city said in its news release.

Cascade Bay made the difficult decision not to open last summer in 2020. Vaughan said that the waterpark used this as an opportunity to work on upgrades in the park that wouldn't have been possible if the park were open.

The upgrades include:

  • New plaster on the bottoms of pools to be finished setting spring 2021.
  • Last fall, the pool gutters were measured and they will be replaced spring 2021.
  • The ship was removed due to structure failure, but the slides in the tower remain.
  • New roofing on several buildings.
  • A new parking lot that was scheduled to be unveiled last summer.
  • A new plaza.
  • New rain guards and trees with drainage added to the parking lot.
    • This will ensure that rainwater is absorbed into the ground instead of the nearby pond.

The age for certain positions at Cascade Bay was also lowered to 15.
