Eagan's July 4th Funfest To Return In 2021

This year's Funfest will take place from July 3-12.

EAGAN, MN— Eagan's "July 4th Funfest" will be returning this summer after being cancelled in 2020 due to the pandemic, the board of directors announced.

“We’re thrilled to be back, and we can’t wait to begin providing details about what’s in store for this year’s celebration,” Jordan Schuetzle, chair of Eagan’s July 4th Funfest Board of Directors said.

This year's Funfest will include food and fireworks, as well as a city-wide scavenger hunt, a bike parade, a blood drive, the annual Eagan Ambassador's coronation and a celebration to promote Eagan's restaurants, the board said.

“Our event lineup will look a bit different this year due to the residual effects of the pandemic, but we’re confident we can creatively keep the great Funfest tradition alive while celebrating in a safe manner,” Schuetzle said.

This year's firework show will be one of the largest in the region, the board said.

The board said they are hoping to bring back the parade, carnival, car show, music, and food trucks by 2022.

“No one was more anxious to return to normal than the great volunteers who serve on our board," Schuetzle said. "With the entire event being organized by volunteers and made possible only through contributions from community sponsors, we’re hoping to rebuild momentum for a big event in 2022.”

This year's Funfest will take place from July 3-12, the board said.
