A Little Ambassador with a big report-Payton shares first month

Hello Eagan Patch my name is Payton Greenlee. I’m 11 years old and will be starting middle school in September. I am nervous but excited at the same time. I am looking forward to seeing my fellow Ambassadors, Hanna and Mia, at school. I am one of the six 2014-2015 Eagan 4th of July Funfest Ambassadors! So far I’m loving being an Ambassador and enjoy my new Ambassador family. Mia is the jokester, Kari can always get you dancing any time any where, Avery is the conga line master, Hanna is the performer and I am so honored to be an Ambassador with the very first male Eagan Funfest Ambassador, Reece. So far I have had the time of my life getting to know everyone.
Some events that I have participated in since being crowned on July 7th include; Hopkins Raspberry Festival Coronation where we danced the night away, Leprechaun Days Parade in Rosemount where we decorated our first float together as Ambassadors, and the Aquatennial Coronation where we cheered on Elle. Congratulations Elle on a job well done.
My favorite event so far has to be Boot Camp. What is Boot Camp you ask? Its where we learned about what to wear, how to do our hair and makeup, how to sit, how to be good listeners and be friendly while at our events. It was a lot of fun and I learned a lot. Mary and Elle, I loved your “home made” cupcakes. I ate 9 of them! They were mini and tasty.
This past Sunday we participated in the Shakopee Derby Days Parade. Boy was it HOT! We decorated our float, walked around and visited with the other Royalty, Shakopee High School Cheerleaders, and Ronald McDonald. I really enjoyed meeting and talking to the Renaissance Festival characters. They were so interesting. Avery and I even had a chance to talk with the stilt walkers. There was a good turn out of parade watchers and even some Sparkle Section Fans!
Our next event is the National Neighborhood Night Out on Tuesday, August 5th. If your neighborhood is not hosting a get together be sure to stop by the Eagan Resource Center to say hi to the 2014-2015 Eagan Funfest Ambassadors.
