EAGAN, MN — Eagan police are looking for information after a statue of a police officer and a wall was vandalized with graffiti Tuesday night. Authorities say the incident happened during a protest that broke out at the Eagan Community Center ahead of an event that was to be hosted by police.

"Eagan Police Department planned to have a community conversation to hear citizens’ concerns surrounding policing, however we had to cancel the event due to a protest that was scheduled to occur at our event," the department said in a release.

"Organizers of the protest indicated this was going to be a peaceful rally, but as you can see from the attached photos, this was far from the case."
