Rep. Angie Craig Calls For Invoking The 25th Amendmant On Trump
Rep. Angie Craig, who represents the south Twin Cities metro, said Trump "should not serve another day in office."

Rep. Angie Craig is among the members of Congress calling for the 25th Amendment to be used to remove President Donald Trump from office. The 25th Amendment allows for the removal of a president if the vice president and Cabinet members believe he is unable to carry out the duties of the presidency.
"The President should not serve another day in office," Craig tweeted late Wednesday. "I encourage members of his Cabinet to invoke the 25th Amendment and remove him. We must defend our nation and preserve our democracy."
Rep. Dean Phillips, who represents the west Twin Cities metro, also backs using the 25th amendment.

In light of yesterday’s horrors and the absence of competency in the Oval Office, I’m staying in Washington to implore the House and Senate stay in session today and tomorrow to entertain impeachment or accept invocation of the 25th amendment to remove the President from office.

President-elect Joe Biden will take office on Jan. 20. An effort to remove Trump before then began Wednesday after a pro-Trump mob fought with police in Washington D.C. and forcibly made their way into the U.S. Capitol, including both chambers of Congress and the officers of Senators and Representatives.
U.S. Capitol Police evacuated both the Library of Congress and the Cannon House Office Building as a result.

Craig and Phillips aren't the only Minnesota lawmakers working to remove Trump from office. As chaos continued to unfold in Washington D.C., Rep. Ilhan Omar announced that she is moving to impeach President Donald Trump Wednesday.
"I am drawing up Articles of Impeachment," Omar wrote on Twitter.
"Donald J. Trump should be impeached by the House of Representatives & removed from office by the United States Senate. We can't allow him to remain in office, it's a matter of preserving our Republic and we need to fulfill our oath."
In August, Trump became the third president to be impeached by the U.S. House. However, he was acquitted by the Senate.
