UPDATED: Lanes Reopen After Tanker Crash on 35E near Yankee Doodle Road in Eagan

Eagan police assisted with the crash that closed two northbound lanes of 35E from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Two lanes have reopened after they closed for an hour and a half because of a tanker crash on northbound 35E near Yankee Doodle Road.

Lt. Eric Roeske of the Minnesota State Patrol said the crash happened when a woman driving an SUV ran out of gas and left her car sitting in the right-center lane as she got out and ran to the shoulder. The semi swerved so it wouldn't hit the SUV, clipped the vehicle, and began to fishtail. The tanker then sideswiped a second SUV that then went into the median and rolled several times, Roeske said. The semi hit the guard rail, he said.

The driver of the second SUV was transported to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries, Roeske said. He did not know to what hospital the driver was taken.
