Winter Weather Advisory Tonight In Dakota County

DAKOTA COUNTY, MN — A winter weather advisory has been issued for parts of central and southern Minnesota, including Dakota County and Scott County.

"The advisory is based on snowfall amounts of one to three inches, with locally heavier amounts along the Iowa border this afternoon," says the National Weather Service.

"Precipitation will expand farther to the northeast across east central Minnesota this afternoon. It will also linger into the early evening as this system has slowed down a few hours. A period of light snow, occasionally heavy at times, will spread across south central, and east central Minnesota, and into west central Wisconsin through the early evening. The snow will end by 9 PM in west central Wisconsin."

Monday: Snow likely. Cloudy, with a high near 35. East northeast wind around 5 mph becoming north. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent. Total daytime snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Monday Night: A 50 percent chance of snow, mainly before 8 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 11. Northwest wind 5 to 15 mph. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Tuesday: Increasing clouds, with a high near 19. West northwest wind 10 to 15 mph.

Tuesday Night: Mostly cloudy during the early evening, then gradual clearing, with a low around -3. Wind chill values as low as -15. Northwest wind 10 to 15 mph.

Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 10. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph.

Wednesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around -10. Northwest wind around 5 mph.

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 14. West southwest wind 5 to 10 mph.

Thursday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 5. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph.
