The 2014 Ford Focus was traveling "at a high rate of speed" before the crash, the Minnesota State Patrol said.

ARDEN HILLS, MN — One man died Sunday after his car went though a freeway fence and rolled in the north metro. The Minnesota State Patrol says a 2014 Ford Focus was traveling "at a high rate of speed" eastbound on 6th Street Northwest in Arden Hills just before noon.
When it came to an "L" intersection on roadway, the car went though the freeway fence and rolled down an embankment several times, coming to a rest on the freeway ramp of Interstate 35W and Exit 2, police said.
The driver — Mathew Allan Albertson, 34, of New Brighton — died at the scene. Eric Michael Flahave, a passenger, suffered non-life threatening injuries and was treated at the scene.
