Afton's Jessie Diggins Talks Ski Gold On CBS This Morning: Watch

Minnesota's Jessie Diggins became the first American to win a gold medal in cross-country skiing at the 2018 Winter Olympics.

The 2018 Winter Olympics may be over, but Afton native Jessie Diggins is still glowing gold. After becoming the United States' first cross-country skier to win gold at the Olympics, Diggins capped off her historic run in Pyeongchang by carrying the American flag at the closing ceremony.

Before Diggins and her sprint teammate Kikkan Randall did it earlier this month, no American woman had medaled in cross-country skiing at the Olympics, and Bill Koch was the only American to have ever medaled in the sport (he won bronze back in 1976).

Diggins and Randall joined "CBS This Morning" to talk about how they first met, how they achieved gold at the Olympics and their hopes for spreading the sport of cross-country skiing in the U.S.
