Applications Sought for Stillwater Board of Water Commission

Applications are now being accepted for one opening on the Board of Water Commissioners Commission. These are volunteer positions, appointed by the City Council and meet monthly on the second Thursday of the month at 9 a.m. The Board of Water Commissioners is organized by Stillwater City Code, Chapter 1, Article XIII. Its purpose is to manage and operate all things in and about the City which it may deem necessary for the proper sanitary, healthful and economical operation of all waterworks. The Board consists of three members who serve for a period of three years. Why Volunteer?                  Citizen involvement improves the quality and responsiveness of public decision-making. Serving as a member of a board offers an excellent opportunity to become actively involved in your city government. The Board of Water Commissioners welcomes its citizens to share their talents and perspectives by serving on our Board. In exchange for your commitment of both time and effort, this Board influences the policies, actions and progress of our community. Criteria for evaluation includes, but are not limited to:

  • Personal and professional experience relating to the subject area of the Board;
  • Knowledge of the community;
  • Knowledge of city government; and
  • Experience from similar appointments.
