Below is a news release from Cedar Pet Clinic Lake Elmo:
For the third year, Cedar Pet Clinic Lake Elmo is making a special collection of pet food for the Valley Outreach Food Shelf during March Food Share Month.
"Last year, the staff and I loaded 722 pounds of pet food into my pickup truck and took it to the Food Shelf for distribution. We're hoping for even more this year", said Dr. John Baillie, owner and Medical Director at the clinic. "They tell us that in these tough economic times, some families and seniors have had to give up their pets. We're happy to help by collecting pet food here at the clinic; it's an easy drop-off, since we're right on Highway 5."
Any brand or type of pet food, of any size, for any kind of pet, is welcome and needed.

The clinic encourages food donations for dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, hamsters and pocket pets, ferrets and rabbits.
"We treat them all, so we know that good nutrition is important for all companion animals", Baillie said, "and we believe that companion animals are important for everyone."
