Are You Representing the Stillwater Area at the Minnesota State Fair?

If so, we want to hear from you. Post where people can find you at the Great Minnesota Get Together in the comment section below.

Lift Bridge Brewing Company may have stolen some of the headlines at the Minnesota State Fair with their Mini Donut beer, but there are plenty of other local businesses and residents who will be representing the Stillwater area, too.

A Firm Handshake announced on Facebook Tuesday night that Sammy Brown will be performing at the Minnesota State Fair on Saturday, Aug. 24 at 4:30 p.m. on the Cities 97 stage (at the corner of Underwood and Lee on Machinery Hill)

She will perform a special song she wrote for Zach Sobiech.

Stillwater Photographer Dave Parker’s image of Lucky’s Station will also be on display at the Fair in the Fine Arts building.

Chicago Dogs Owner Bruce Chesin will be in the Garden at the corner of Dan Patch and Underwood at the Fair. There’s karaoke during the day and a country band at night from Aug. 22 to Sept. 2.

Our local state representatives will also be at the Fair.

  • Sen. Karin Housley will be at the Senate Booth at the fair from 2-4 p.m. on Labor Day;
  • Rep. Kathy Lohmer will be at the House Booth at the fair from 2-4 p.m. on Thursday, Aug 29;
  • Rep. Bob Dettmer will be at the GOP Booth at the fair on Wednesday, Aug. 28.

And back to that mini donut beer. Lift Bridge’s special brew will be on sale at the Ball Park Café.

I know we just barely touched the surface of Stillwater area folks at the Fair, so if you, or someone locally you know, is participating in the Great Minnesota Get Together tell us about it in the comments.
