Stillwater Board Votes To Delay Start Of School Year

The measure was approved so that students and staff could have more time to prepare for the year.

STILLWATER, MN — The board for Stillwater Area Schools has voted to delay the start of the school year by one week to give families and staff more time to prepare for the "unusual year of learning."

The board adopted the revised school calendar to give teachers four more days of professional development in August and have students begin school the week of Sept. 8.

The school board is expected to approve a learning model for this fall — in-person, hybrid, or distance learning — at its Thursday board meeting.
