OAKDALE, MN — The state of Minnesota’s coronavirus community vaccination program is expanding in the east Twin Cities metro, Gov. Tim Walz announced Thursday. The state will open a permanent vaccination site at Inwood Oaks in Oakdale.

The Oakdale site joins seven other permanent community vaccination sites in Minnesota. The other ones are located in Minneapolis, Duluth, Rochester, Bloomington, Saint Paul, St. Cloud, and Mankato.

The Pfizer vaccine will be administered at Inwood Oaks starting this week, according to Walz's office.

"Across the state, we continue to build an expansive network to bring vaccines directly to Minnesotans in their communities. Our Community Vaccine Program remains a key component of this life-saving network," Walz said in a news release.

"The Community Vaccination sites are getting shots into arms safely and efficiently, and this new location will help us reach more Minnesotans 16 years and up."

On Tuesday, the state directed all vaccine administrators — both in public and private healthcare settings — to allow residents 16 and older to sign up for the coronavirus vaccine. You can now get vaccinated regardless of your job or personal health situation, as long as you are at least 16.
