Coronavirus: ​Washington County Suspends Organics Drop-Off

Food scraps can no longer be dropped off at the Northern Yard Waste site.

STILLWATER, MN — Due to the new coronavirus crisis, Washington County has suspended organic and food scrap drop-off service at the Northern Yard Waste site until further notice.

The site will continue to be open to the public for yard waste. Residents are asked to stay 6 feet away from others while visiting the county yard waste site.

County officials say they hope to resume organics service as soon as it is safely possible.

At this time, residents are encouraged to:

• Consider backyard composting
• Try a new food scrap recipe
• Store food properly to decrease the amount of wasted food
