Curio Dance And School Performance, "Come Together" Spring Recital

Curio Dance and School presents "Come Together" this Saturday May 28th, 7pm at the Chautauqua Fine Arts Center (Mahtomedi High School). We have thoroughly enjoyed watching our dancers build skills in movement and confidence throughout the year and take pride in their hard work. We are pleased to share their accomplishments with you.

Curio Dance was founded by siblings Dario Mejia & Giselle Mejia, Caitlin Mejia (Dario’s spouse), and supported by sister Nicole Mejia, brother Camilo Mejia, and mother, Patricia Schaber (formerly de Mejia). Prior to returning to MN they performed internationally and off Broadway with “iLuminate,” the team that were finalists with America’s Got Talent. Dance at Curio is diverse, ranging from Ecuadorian roots of Latin Social dance to classical ballet, traditional tap, jazz extending into funk, hip hop, and break dance. Curio Dance takes pride in the professional quality instruction, touting the highest quality classes drawn from years of study in dance performance. Our instructors have been trained at prestigious institutions including The Juilliard School, SUNY Purchase Conservatory of Dance, Minnesota Dance Theater, and others across the US. They believe in continued training; Giselle is pursuing a master’s in dance performance at the Peck School of Performing Arts.

This February, mark your calendars, for Valentine’s weekend as they will produce and direct their signature show titled “Drop the Mic! Experience Love” at the Cowles Performing Arts Center in downtown Minneapolis. It will be the sixth season of Drop the Mic! which showcases 40-plus dancers on stage to perform in styles as varied as Latin, African, Native, hip-hop, ballet and ballroom. The performance is exhilarating!
