Highway 5 Construction from Oakdale to Oak Park Heights to Begin Next Week

The Minnesota Department of Transportation announced Wednesday a plan to resurface an eight-mile section of Highway 5 between Highway 120 in Oakdale and Highway 36 in Oak Park Heights.

It is scheduled to begin Monday, Sept. 9.

Beginning at 6 p.m., motorists traveling on both directions of Highway 5 may encounter intermittent lane closures.

Lanes will reopen by 6 a.m. daily. Construction will begin at Highway 120/Highway 5.

Though a majority of the work will be done overnight, some construction may take place during off-peak, daytime hours.

Construction will be done under traffic and motorists should expect delays. Flagging and pilot car operations will direct motorists through the work zone.

Drivers are asked to navigate the work zone with care.

The project is expected to be complete by early November.
