Washington County will sponsor a household hazardous waste and electronics collection and document shredding event in Stillwater on Saturday, May 18 at Lily Lake Ice Arena.

Washington County will sponsor a household hazardous waste and electronics collection and document shredding event in Stillwater on Saturday, May 18 at Lily Lake Ice Arena.
The "remote" household hazardous waste collections will happen at various locations during the summer and fall throughout the county.

- Stillwater: Saturday, May 18, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., household hazardous waste and electronics collection, and document shredding event, Lily Lake Ice Arena, 1208 S. Greeley St.
- Forest Lake: Saturday, June 1, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., household hazardous waste and electronics collection, and document shredding, Headwater Service Center, 19955 Forest Road N.
- Forest Lake: Saturday, Sept. 14, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., household hazardous waste and electronics collection and document shredding, Headwater Service Center, 19955 Forest Road N.
- Forest Lake: Saturday, Sept. 21, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., household hazardous waste and electronics collection, and document shredding, Headwater Service Center, 19955 Forest Road N.
- Hugo: Saturday, Oct. 5, 8 a.m. to noon, household hazardous waste and electronics collection, Public Works Building, 6900 137th St. N.
Confidential paper shredding events will also take place at the Washington County Environmental Center:
- 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 12.
- 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 20.
In addition to remote-site collections, the Washington County Environmental Center, 4039 Cottage Grove Drive in Woodbury, provides residents with a free and convenient disposal option for household hazardous waste, electronics, and recyclables all year round.

It is open Tuesday noon to 7 p.m., Thursday 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and Saturday 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The center accepts household hazardous waste, electronics, and recyclables. The center also has a Free Product Room, in which residents may browse the shelves and take home previously-owned products such as paint, stain, automotive supplies, household cleaners, and other products.
All items brought into the Environmental Center are inspected to determine if they are usable products.
