Hump Day in Stillwater: Puppets, Car Show and Paddle Boarding on Tap

Happy hump day, Stillwater.

It’s Wednesday, and this post is all about puppets, car shows and paddle boarding.

A few things to know today:

• The Driveway Tour will make a stop at Jon Skaalen’s Big Pink prairie-style home in Stillwater Wednesday to perform the puppet show, "Tucker's Robot. Skaalen lives just above Schulenberg Park on the north end of Stillwater at 1900 N. Second St. The BBQ starts at 5 p.m., with the show starting at 7 p.m. Make sure to bring chairs and blankets.

• Cruisin’ on the Croix is happening Wednesday night in Lowell Park.
• The Edge Martial Arts will be at the park 10 a.m. Wednesday
• Let’s Go Batty Storytime with a DNR Naturalist at 10:30 a.m. at the Stillwater Public Library

Foodies on Foot made the news this week, with this feature on WCCO. A WCCO reporter joined the mother-daughter duo on a culinary tour of downtown Stillwater.

If you feel like checking out some local art, ArtReach St. Croix’s annual Members Show is happening at ArtReach, and Curtis Dale’s Photography Exhibit is at the Art Guild Gallery, according to St. Croix Splash.

Studio One Yoga is running a Paddleboard Yoga workshop beginning Aug. 4.

From the Studio One Yoga Facebook page:

“Holy buckets, we've got cool stuff!!! Paddleboard Yoga!!!! We are running a 4 week workshop beginning August 4, Sundays at noon, for one hour with Kim Thomas, owner of Browndog Paddleboards, and Studio One instructor. This has got to be one of the funnest activities that we have ever done, and we can't wait to share it with you. Space is extremely limited, as she has only 8-9 boards available per class so please, sign up online ASAP.”

On a related note, Stillwater’s own Liz Westerhaus will be on WCCO Wednesday morning as an instructor of a Paddle Board Yoga class she’s leading on Lake Calhoun.

Register for a SUP Yoga class 

Keeping with the theme of paddle boarding, Washington County Parks is offering a free class from 2-4 p.m. on Saturday, July 27 at Square Lake.
