Man Gets Life Sentence In Death Of Stillwater Corrections Officer

Edward Johnson will not have the possibility of parole.

STILLWATER, MN — Edward Johnson pled guilty Friday to first degree murder of a peace officer in the death of Stillwater Corrections Officer Joseph Gomm. Gomm, 45, was killed July 18, 2018.

Following his plea, Johnson was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole, according to a news release.

My thoughts are with the family of Joseph Gomm and his colleagues at the Minnesota Correctional Facility-Stillwater."
