Minnesotans Watch As Wisconsinites Pack Bars, Taverns

Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers says their state has been thrown "into chaos" by a court decision

Moments after the Wisconsin Supreme Court struck down Gov. Tony Evers' stay-at-home order Wednesday afternoon, the Tavern League of Wisconsin told its members that they can "OPEN IMMEDIATELY!"

A number of bars across Wisconsin did exactly that.

The Iron Hog Saloon in Port Washington had its doors open by 3 p.m., according to WISN. A live broadcast on Twitter showed a packed crowed at Nick's on 2nd in Platteville.

Minnesota will open up starting Monday, but slowly

Across the border in Minnesota, bars and restaurants will have to remain closed until at least June 1. Gov. Tim Walz announced Wednesday that when his Stay Home order expires Monday, he will not extend it. However, when the Stay Home order ends, Walz plans to replace it with a new order that brings back more social interactions.

In Minnesota, 12,917 cases have been confirmed and 638 people have died.
