New Interim Principal Will Head Afton-Lakeland Elementary School
"I am beyond excited to learn from the Afton-Lakeland scholars and educators, as I know they will inspire me," Christopher Rogers said.
STILLWATER, MN — Christopher Rogers will head Afton-Lakeland Elementary as the newly-hired interim principal. Rogers' background is in special education with a focus on providing opportunities to students with emotional behavioral disorders and autism.
He previously worked as a special education teacher at Roosevelt Education Center in the St. Cloud Area Schools district and at Crest View Elementary in the Osseo Area Schools district.
He was also the assistant principal at Mankato East High Schools.

"Chris exemplifies all we have hoped for in an interim principal for Afton-Lakeland," said Malinda Lansfeldt, interim superintendent, in a news release.
"He is restorative, adaptive, student-centered and supportive. We are fortunate to have a dynamic and driven leader who will continue the amazing work at Afton-Lakeland while building relationships with the entire community."

Before working in education, Rogers was a treatment facility manager and helped teenagers learn and use positive coping mechanisms.
"I’m excited to join the Stillwater family and I am honored to know I will work with excellent educators this year as we provide a dynamic education for our students," Rogers stated.
"More importantly, I am beyond excited to learn from the Afton-Lakeland scholars and educators, as I know they will inspire me."
Rogers is a doctoral candidate at St. Cloud State University.
