Police: 'Extremely Intoxicated' Man Passes out on Sofa at Simonet's, Spends Night in Detox

An "extremely intoxicated" 20-year-old man passed out on a sofa at Simonet's Furniture on Monday afternoon after a day of heavy drinking. His blood alcohol level was .34, according to Stillwater Police.

A 20-year-old man apparently had too much to drink on Monday, passed out on a sofa at Simonet's Furniture and was eventually hauled off to Detox.

Stillwater Police were called to Simonet’s Furniture at about 5:50 p.m. Monday for a report of a customer who was passed out on a sofa.

Police woke the man up, and advised him they were going to take him to Dakota County Detox.

During the transport, police learned Dakota County would not accept him because he had previously damaged property in their facility during a separate incident. Police then made arrangements to take the man to Ramsey County Detox.

Police noted that the man was cooperative, but while speaking with the man, he appeared to be “extremely intoxicated,” and “could not answer questions in a coherent manner and had difficulty standing.”
