Two Men Dead In Mahtomedi; Sheriff Investigates Possible Shooting
Sheriff's officials suspect that one man killed another, then himself in Mahtomedi Monday, according to a news report.
MAHTOMEDI, MN — Sheriff's officials said one man fatally shot another then turned the gun on himself Monday in Mahtomedi, the Star Tribune reported.
David Peterson, 49, of Blaine, fatally shot Todd "Jimmy" Wilemon, 58, from Fulton, Mississippi, then himself, the Washington County Sheriff's Office told the newspaper.
Sheriff's deputies found the two men while responding to a call just before 2:30 a.m. near 7 Long Lake Road in Mahtomedi, about 20 minutes northeast of St. Paul.

Deputies found Wilemon dead and tried to revive Peterson before he was hospitalized. Peterson died at the hospital later that day.
A gun was found at the scene. The Sheriff's Office is not seeking any suspects and says there is no threat to public safety, according to a news release.
