Rising St. Croix River In Stillwater To Trigger No-Wake Zone
The no-wake zone protects boaters from flood-related hazards such as floating debris and river currents and minimizes damage to shorelines.

STILLWATER, MN — Thanks to rapidly melting snow, the St. Croix River in Stillwater is predicted to exceed 683 feet late Tuesday or early Wednesday, thus enacting a no-wake zone. The zone will be enforced from Taylors Falls to the Mississippi River in Prescott, Wisconsin.
In no-wake zones, boats must be operated at theslowest possible speed necessary to maintain steerage, and in no case greater than five mph.
The no-wake zone protects boaters from flood-related hazards such as floating debris and river currents. It also helps minimize damage to shorelines, levees, and islands which are more vulnerable to damage from wakes during high water events
