Sen. Al Franken to Celebrate Art & Science at Stillwater's Da Vinci Fest

DaVinci Fest—a collection of more than 500 art, science and technology projects displayed by students in grades 4 through 12—takes place from 1-5 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5 at Stillwater Area High School.

U.S. Sen. Al Franken will meet with students, teachers and educators participating in the Partnership Plan’s Seventh Annual Da Vinci Fest on Saturday, Jan. 5 at Stillwater Area High School.

DaVinci Fest——takes place from 1-5 p.m. Saturday at the high school.

Franken will arrive at the event at 1:30 p.m. and be introduced by Superintendent Corey Lunn to and speak to attendees at 2:10 p.m.

Zach Sobiech, Sammy Brown and Reed Redmon's band—A Firm Handshake—will play at the School of Music and Mayhem booth at 1:30 and 4:30 p.m., according to this event preview posted Thursday on TwinCities.com.

Sobiech's song "Clouds" recently went viral, garnering more than 1.5 million hits since being posted on YouTube Dec. 5.

During his visit, Franken also will tour the high school Fabrication Laboratory (Fab Lab).
