South Hill Community Garden Launches, Volunteers and Donations Sought
The next South Hill Community Garden gathering is Saturday, June 1, at 9 a.m. at the garden site. Garden organizers are hoping more volunteers will help build garden boxes.

The new South Hill Community Garden has launched, and the organizers are looking for volunteers to help build garden boxes.
The new South Hill Community Garden is located south of the playground at St. Peter's United Church of Christat 111 E. Orleans.
- There are still 10 X 10 and 5 X 10 plots available.
Due to this first year's initial costs for garden box materials and compost, the cost of a plot will be higher than in any future year, Carol Caouette said. The 10 X 10 plots are $100 and 5 X 10 plots are $50.

Those who can pay the full $100 will be guaranteed their plot next year as well, she said, for helping with the costs of building the garden.
If you'd like more information about purchasing a plot or making a donation to help build the garden, contact Carol Caouette at: southhillcommunitygarden@gmail.com or by phone at 651-492-4903.

The next Community Garden gathering is Saturday, June 1, at 9 a.m. at the garden site. There will be coffee and treats.
Garden organizers are hoping more volunteers will help build garden boxes.
“Many hands make light work and we'll be able to plant next week if we can get enough help,” Caouette said.
Volunteers are asked to bring garden implements and wheelbarrows, if you can.
