The Stillwater Area High School is partnering with FitNation Donation to sponsor a Fit-Drive event Thursday, June 20.
The event, from 6–8 p.m., will take place in the main parking lot of the high school. People are asked to donate their used and unwanted exercise equipment on behalf of the Stillwater schools.
The donated equipment will provide funding for new strength equipment and renovation of the current weight room facility at the High School.
FitNation Donation facilitates donation-based funding through used exercise equipment.
“We think this is a terrific opportunity for the community to help the school while getting rid of equipment they are no longer using,” Joel Scalzo, Director of Charitable Partnerships at FitNation Donation said in a news release. “That’s a win-win scenario that helps reduce expense and recycle equipment at the same time.”Stillwater Area Head Football Coach Beau LaBore is also excited about the potential of this event.
“Our weight room and equipment is in need of improvement.” LaBore said. “The Fit-Drive will help us acquire some new equipment and replace some old."The event is simple by design.
People are asked to bring their equipment to the high school on June 20 and drop off their equipment with the assistance of the Fit-Drive team.
If you are unable to attend the event, or need assistance in donating the equipment, call the Fit-Drive hotline (952) 240-8638 to arrange a collection time. The Fit-Drive team will arrive at their home to collect the equipment.
