Stillwater Choir to Be Heard on National Public Radio
The choir traveled to the Ordway in Saint Paul last week to record two pieces for a National Public Radio show.

The Stillwater Choir, which is made up of Stillwater Area High School students, will be featured on the National Public Radio show From the Top. The choir traveled to the Ordway in Saint Paul last week to record two pieces for the show: Tykus Tykus by Vaclovas Augustinas and Alleluia by Frederick Sixten.
Senior Jacob Lagus and junior Lydia Stannard were also interviewed for the program, according to a news release.
The performance will aired locally on Classical MPR on Sunday, Dec. 4 at 3 p.m. The nationally syndicated program reaches at least a half a million homes, according to school officials.

In addition to their performance, a small group of students participated in an Arts Leadership Outreach orientation. Six members of the choir (Matthew Deitrich, Jacob Lagus, Matthew Palmquist, Governess Simpson, Lydia Stannard and Sophie Vogel) spent the day learning about becoming arts leaders in their community and also performed for and with comMUSICation, an inner-city children’s choir started by Stillwater Area High School graduate Sarah Zanussi.
