Stillwater Choir Director Wins 'Director Of The Year'

The Minnesota Chapter of the American Choral Directors Association gives out the award to a director with 10 or fewer years of experience.

STILLWATER, MN — Stillwater Area High School choir director Katelyn Larson has been recognized as the Minnesota Young Choral Director of the Year. The Minnesota Chapter of the American Choral Directors Association gives out the award to a director with 10 or fewer years of experience in the choral profession.

Larson, a 2007 graduate of Stillwater High School, is one of just six women honored with the award in the past 22 years. She directs the advanced and developing treble choirs for Stillwater High School.

Larson also teaches an extracurricular 9th and 10th grade chamber ensemble, and serves as the vocal director for the spring musical. She also teaches undergraduate coursework in vocal pedagogy at the University of St. Thomas.
